Rising Star in Dog Agility

Since entering the dog agility world in 2014, Viveka Rosenberger has become a formidable contender. Dogs have always been a part of Viveka’s life, but her agility journey began with the adoption of her "cow camp" Australian Shepherd, Sadie. Soon after, she welcomed a Shetland Sheepdog, Rascal. With dedication and hard work, Viveka focused on honing Sadie and Rascal's temperament and focus, marking her entry into the agility community through local trials and competitions. Leveraging her athletic background from high school and collegiate volleyball, Viveka quickly helped Sadie and Rascal achieve qualifying scores (Q’s) and work towards their Master Agility Championship Titles (MACH).

After the birth of her second child, Viveka, her husband Parker, and their children took Sadie to their first national dog agility competition in Tulsa, OK, where Sadie performed admirably. This success was followed by an inspiring trip to the Netherlands to observe Team USA at an international agility competition. Though not competing, this experience deepened Viveka’s passion for the sport.

Back in the US, Viveka continued competing across the country, winning and placing in numerous trials. She then acquired Monty, a Shetland Sheepdog with an impressive agility pedigree. Monty's natural talent combined with Viveka’s athleticism created a winning team, consistently achieving top placements. During this period, Viveka and Parker welcomed their third child.

Monty’s rapid progress led to achieving MACH in record time. In 2021, Viveka returned to the national stage in Tulsa, this time with Sadie, Rascal, Monty, and her three children. Viveka and Monty placed in the top 10, earning national television coverage and securing 6th place in the country in the 16” division.

Following this success, Viveka was invited to the prestigious AKC Premier Cup in Ocala, FL, where she and Monty placed 5th. They closed out 2021 with top 10 and top 20 placements in two additional national events in October and November.

In the spring of 2022, Viveka expanded her team with Maple, another Shetland Sheepdog. Maple quickly proved to be a valuable addition to the V Ruff Crew, showing great promise as a fierce competitor.

In the spring of 2023, Viveka welcomed her fourth child. She continues to be an inspiration to young mothers across the country and within the agility community, demonstrating that it is possible to be a devoted mother while also chasing your dreams. Viveka’s journey in dog agility continues to be marked by dedication, success, and a deep love for her canine companions.

Viveka and Parker decided to create V Ruff Crew LLC, a venture that encompasses Viveka's teaching, product showcases, and competitive activities. Viveka teaches upwards of 40 students dog agility in Alabama, showcases products for various companies, and continues to compete all over the country and world with their children and six dogs.

One of the hardest working women in the agility community, Viveka can be regularly seen “walking” the courses with her daughter and sons holding hands.
